Notes
- Prominent individuals of this name are attested, in the C5 BCE, in both Athens (Thucydides 8.25.1 & 30.2, a general in 412/11; Xenophon, Hellenica 2.3.2, one of the "Thirty Tyrants" of 404/3) and Sparta (Xenophon Hellenica 2.3.10, eponymous ephor of 425/4). Which of them -- if any -- generated the present entry is impossible to say.
