Notes (2)
- 1The same verb appears at xi 121; and cf. delta 919. ↩
- 2An approximation of Procopius, History of the Wars of Justinian 8.18.14 (where the figure is twelve thousand; cf. web address 1). In 551 CE, the Gepids (cf. gamma 243) attempt to enlist the help of the Kutrigur Huns (cf. kappa 2197) in a war against the Romans and the Lombards (cf. lambda 21); cf. Kaldellis (503), alpha 3682, and kappa 547. ↩
