The [verb that means] to change position. From those playing draughts and rectifying [sc. the positions of] pieces that have already been moved.1 For the word does not mean "to refer" or "to communicate", but to alter one's plans and to repent. It is frequent in the philosopher Plato.2 Menander in Aphrodisian [writes]: "after escaping the illness which she had, she did not have to take back the words which had been spoken."3
