Notes (1)
- The headword adjective is genitive plural, presumably extracted from the quotation given. For its bou- prefix cf. e.g. beta 422, beta 454.↩
- 1Greek Anthology 6.222.3-4 (Theodoridas), sailors dedicate the rib of a scolopendra that washed ashore; cf. Gow and Page vol. I (192), vol. II (540), and further excerpts from this epigram at epsilon 37 and kappa 2635. For the scolopendra -- a kind of maritime millipede, but of monstrous size in the legends of mariners -- see sigma 646 and Gow and Page vol. I (74).
