Translation

The son of [sc. Zeus and] Semele.¹ [sc. So named] from accomplishing [dianu/ein] for each of those who live the wild life. Or from providing [dianoei=n] everything for those who live the wild life.²

Διόνυσος, ὁ Σεμέλης υἱός. παρὰ τὸ διανύειν ἑκάστοις τὸν ἄγριον βίον ζῶσιν. ἢ παρὰ τὸ διανοεῖν ἕκαστα τοῖς τὸν ἄγριον βίον ζῶσι.
