Notes
- In ms M only, Adler reports.
The unglossed headword is apparently the present participle, masculine nominative plural, of the verbdoco/omai (found only in the passive in classical writers: see LSJ s.v. at web address 1), though Etymologicum Gudianum s.v.docou/menoi polemically insists that it stems fromdoce/w .
In any event, Adler identifies its source here as John of Damascus, Iambic Canons 1.124.
See also ps.-Zonaras s.v.docou/menoi (with the glossdoca/zontes , "supposing") and Verba in Scripturis de Christo s.v.docou/menoi (with the glosskaqoptrizo/menoi , "mirroring").
