Notes (4)
- [1] The headword is↩
deidi/a (from a notional masculinedeidi/os ), noted in the Supplement to LSJ; it is evidently quoted from somewhere. Besides its appearance here, other lexica derive it explicitly fromde/os (delta 246) and mention its application to a night which is dark and moonless.- 2cf. already delta 147. ↩
- 3A reduplication in epsilon and an ablaut in the zero grade. ↩
- 4Actually the ei is a lengthening of the epsilon to maintain the long first syllable of the original *dedwoya. ↩
- 5cf. already delta 151.
