Notes
- Epic aorist subjunctive of
e)ne/pw /e)nne/pw , first person singular. In Homer, this verb is used in the sense "tell, relate"; for the sense "reprove, upbraid," Homer usese)ni/ptw ore)ni/ssw (cf. epsilon 1349). Later poets usee)ni/spw as a present indicative. See LSJ s.v.e)ne/pw .
The root ofe)ne/pw is *sekw- as in Latin insece; a different *sekw- is the base fore(/pomai and Latin sequor.
