Εὐλογήσαι ἡμᾶς ὁ θεός
may God bless us

Translation
[sc. This verb is used] with an accusative. It is fitting to know that when mankind "blesses" God they offer only words to him, but are not able to benefit him in deed. When God blesses he makes firm his words by his action and he provides to those being blessed a supply of every kind of good things.

Notes
- After the initial grammatical gloss this is Theodoret (PG 80, 1373bc) on Psalm 66:8 LXX (the headword phrase).
