- The headword verb is the perfect tense of
h(geo/mai , which can be present in meaning (see H.Stephanus s.v. with several examples of it).
The entry is taken from Photius, Lexicon eta33, where Theodoridis notes Naber's view that the headword is quoted from the New Testament (Acts 26.2). He himself, however, adds instances in Herodotus (1.126.2, 1.115.6) and Lucian (Piscator 14); and there are, in truth, numerous others.
