Notes (2)
- 1Taller at 1 Samuel 17:4 LXX: "And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath (Hebrew גלית), of Gath, whose height was six cubits (אמות) and a span (זרת)." A "cubit" was the distance between the point of the elbow and that of the middle finger; see pi 1543. A "span" was the distance between the tips of the thumb and the little finger at full extension; see sigma 942. ↩
