Notes (4)

  1. 1Likewise or similarly in other lexica. The headword participle, masculine nominative singular, might be generated by the occurrence of the corresponding accusative in the quotation immediately following, but not necessarily so; other possibilities include Josephus, Jewish War 5.541. ↩
  2. 2Josephus, Jewish Antiquities 6.189. For Goliath see generally gamma 367. ↩
  3. 3Perfect middle/passive participle, after the headword's aorist. ↩
  4. 4Eunapius fr.68 FHG (4.44); cf. mu 1436. ↩
