Translation
A tyrant of Eretria.1 A different Hipparchos [was] the son of Peisistratos.2 Another Hipparchos [was] the son of Charmos; he was a relative of Peisistratos the tyrant and was the first to undergo ostracism, on account of the distrust of [i.e. regarding] Peisistratos -- because he was tyrant while being a popular leader and a general.3 There is another Hipparchos, an actor, whom Demosthenes mentions.4 Amongst Athenians a hipparchos is also the term for the commander of cavalry.5 There were two of them.6
