Notes

  1. The first of a series of entries, lambda 93 through lambda 103, with lampr- prefixes, in the sense of 'bright' or 'dazzling'; in this instance attached to the root ei(m-, a garment (epsiloniota 141, epsiloniota 145).
This rare verb appears in an account of Callirhoe's preparation for her wedding, in Charito, De Chaerea et Callirhoe, 3.1. Also in Michael Glycas, Annales, 119.1; Michael Attaliates, Historia 127.18; Pachymeres 63.7.
For the gloss cf. Etymologicum Gudianum 361.57-59 (re lamprei/mwn) and the Ambrosian Lexicon (390).
