Notes (2)

  1. The twin headwords, in the dative plural, are evidently quoted from somewhere.
  2. 1Likewise in other lexica (references at Photius omicron541 Theodoridis), and cf. also the scholia to Homer, Odyssey 7.112 and 24.340, and to Iliad 14.123. ↩
  3. 2For this dubious etymology, based on the similarity between orx- and erx-, see also Orion [Author, Myth] 113.29 and Etymologicum Magnum 634.38. ↩
