Translation
[Meaning] an auricle.
Greek original · Adler’s text
Οὖς· τὸ ὠτίον.
Betacode
*ou)=s: to\ w)ti/on.
Notes
- Entry lacking, Adler reports, in mss AFV.
Here the glossing word -- formally a diminutive, but see LSJ s.v. -- is rarer in classical Greek than the headword. However, it has replacedou)=s in modern Greek: in the pluralta\ w)ti/a >ta ou)ti/a > taftia, whence the singulart' au)ti/ (t'afti).
