Translation

Attic-speakers say this instead of o)/i+n.

Greek original · Adler’s text

Οἶν· Ἀττικοὶ ἀντὶ τοῦ ὄϊν.

Betacode
*oi)=n: *)attikoi\ a)nti\ tou= o)/i+n.

Notes

  1. That is, the vowels are contracted to form a diphthong in Attic; cf. omicron 95, omicron 98, omicron 100, omicroniota 168.
Similar entry already in Hesychius (omicron303), which Adler tentatively connects with a scholion on Aristophanes, Peace 1076.
