Notes (2)

  1. Same entry in Photius (pi527 Theodoridis), and almost the same in Timaeus' Platonic Lexicon; similarly elsewhere. The headword participle, probably masculine accusative singular rather than neuter plural, must be quoted from somewhere; perhaps from Xenophon, Memorabilia 1.2.29 (on Critias and the young Euthydemus).
For the sexual connotation of this verb, see already pi 1452.
  2. 1cf. pi 1451. ↩
  3. 2Timaeus adds pai=da h)\ gunai=ka, "a boy or woman". ↩
