- cf. scholion on Homer, Iliad 20.313, where the masculine accusative plural of
polu/s ispole/as (scanned as disyllabic: web address 1). Schmidt gives the lemma in Hesychius aspol[l]ei=s , casting doubt on the spelling with double lambda (double lambda should occur only in thematic forms ofpolu/s , from the stempoll- , as e.g. at pi 1920 and pi 1923).
