Notes (1)

  1. The headword is a feminine adjective in the nominative (and vocative) singular; see LSJ s.v. It is an epithet of xqw/n (the earth) in the epic form poulubo/teira, as in Homer, Iliad 3.89 with scholion (web address 1), where it appears in the dative singular; cf. Cunliffe s.v., p. 341. (The present form is unattested outside lexicography.)
  2. 1The headword is identically glossed in Photius' Lexicon (pi1033 Theodoridis), Lexica Segueriana 345.16, and Synagoge pi531; cf. Hesychius (and pi 1944). ↩
