Translation

[*pra=gos means the same as] pra=cis.1 "It is not right for anyone of human beings to disregard a matter."2 If one is a human being, he is saying, one should not despise a matter.

Greek original · Adler’s text

Πρᾶγος· ἡ πρᾶξις. πρᾶγος δ' ἀτίζειν οὐδεμ' ἀνθρώπων χρεών. ἄνθρωπον ὄντα, φησίν, οὐ δεῖ πρᾶγμα κακίζειν.

Notes (2)

  1. 1The headword is a poetic neuter noun, equivalent (as we see here) to pra=cis and pra=gma; all are related to the verb pra/ttw/pra/ssw. ↩
  2. 2Approximate quotation of Sophocles, Oedipus at Colonus 1153 (web address 1), with scholion. ↩
