Notes (3)

  1. The headword, attested in this entry alone, is a two-ending adjective in the masculine/feminine nominative singular; see generally LSJ s.v. (where the translation skilled in business does not really suit either of the instances given here).
  2. 1Quotation unidentifiable (but cf. n. 3 below). For a)gxi/nous (clever, ready of wit, shrewd, tight-witted), a contracted two-ending adjective here in the nominative singular, see also alpha 402, alpha 403, and generally LSJ s.v. a)gxi/noos. ↩
  3. 2In her critical apparatus Adler reports that ms A omitted kai\, also, and provided a new entry for the secondary lemma. ↩
  4. 3Again, quotation unidentifiable. (Adler tentatively suggests Polybius, presumably on the basis of his liking for other pragmato- compounds.) ↩
