Translation

[Meaning] to scrape, to scare away.

Greek original · Adler’s text

Ψηνύξαι· ξύσαι, σοβῆσαι.

Betacode
*yhnu/cai: cu/sai, sobh=sai.

Notes

  1. The headword is the aorist active infinitive of an otherwise unknown verb. Zonaras gives it as the equally-unattested yhni/cai, with the Suda's two glossing verbs and a third, kinh=sai -- none of which seem obviously related to the others.
