α4623Ἀφίστασθαι αὐτοῖς τῆς ἀρχῆς
to give up the rule to them, to resign from rule in their favor
[Used] with a genitive. A construction. [Meaning] to give way, to be deprived. "It was for those of the Macedonians who wished to resign."
Ἀφίστασθαι αὐτοῖς τῆς ἀρχῆς· γενικῇ. σύνταξις. ἀποχωρίζεσθαι, ἀλλοτριοῦσθαι. βουλομένοις ἦν τῶν Μακεδόνων ἀφίστασθαι.
