Like fat to a ferret. In reference to those giving what the recipients relish. Also [sc. attested is] "you are pouring wine for frogs", in reference to those providing what the recipients have no use for.
Βατράχῳ ὕδωρ· ὡς γαλῇ στέαρ. ἐπὶ τῶν ταῦτα διδόντων, οἷς χαίρουσιν οἱ λαμβάνοντες. καὶ Βατράχοις οἰνοχοεῖς, ἐπὶ τῶν ταῦτα παρεχόντων, ὧν οὐ χρῄζουσιν οἱ λαμβάνοντες.
