Notes
- Sardeis/Sardis was the ancient capital of Lydia; present-day Sart, in western Turkey. Capital of the kingdom of Kroisos/Croesus (kappa 2497, kappa 2498, kappa 2499, kappa 2500).
The headword is adjectival. Alternative spellings of the city name are given, the second in Ionic dialect. The Greek spelling was most commonly Sardeis, the Latin form Sardis or Sardes.
