A proper name.

Greek original · Adler’s text

Σβῆρος· ὄνομα κύριον.

Betacode
*sbh=ros: o)/noma ku/rion.

Notes

  1. Attested as such only here (where the lemma is out of alphabetical order) and, in passing, in Etymologicum Magnum 475.28. Adler reports manuscript variants, including *sebh=ros; even without them, it is presumably a variant or debasement of Seberos/Severus (sigma 181, sigma 182, sigma 271).
