Translation
Like with jitterings, and with quibblings, hackworks, shadow-paintings. For skarifeu/ein ["to sketch"] [is the term for] painters first outlining the painted [figures].

Notes
- Derived from commentary to Aristophanes, Frogs 1497 (cf. scholia ad loc.), where a slightly different form of the dative plural headword,
skarifhsmoi=si, appears. Neither form occurs elsewhere. The first gloss, skarismoi=s ('jitterings') appears to be an etymological comment rather than one that is meant to be semantically enlightening. See also sigma 540 and sigma 522.
