Notes (2)

  1. Apostolius 15.94, etc.
  2. 1For this notorious episode see under tau 206. For Tainaron and its homonymous temple (and Cape: present-day Matapan) at the southern-most extremity of the Peloponnese see Barrington Atlas Map 58 grid C5. ↩
  3. 2Tainaron, never a polis, could never have had 'citizens'. See rather Stephanus of Byzantium s.v. Tainaros (sic), where plural Tainaritai appears in a quotation and cannot be pressed to mean anything more than residents. ↩
