Translation
Meaning quickly changing their minds, precipitate, thoughtless. The Athenians are butts of comedy for being like this, and because they quickly change their minds about decisions they have reached.

Notes
- From the scholia to Aristophanes, Acharnians 630, where the headword (a dative plural) occurs (web address 1): at the opening of the parabasis the chorus-leader says that Aristophanes' enemies are slandering him 'amongst the hasty-deciding Athenians'.
LSJ s.v. suggests that this may be an allusion to the overnight change of decision, three years earlier, about punishing the revolt of Mytilene (Thucydides 3.36).
