Translation

Meaning, with the resolution, qa/ssete. Or you are seated quickly [qow=s]. Sophocles [writes]: "why are you thus sitting before me?"1

Greek original · Adler’s text

Θοάζετε· κατὰ διάλυσιν, ἀντὶ τοῦ θάσσετε. ἢ θοῶς προκάθησθε. Σοφοκλῆς· τίνας ποθ' ἕδρας τάσδε μοι θοάζετε;

Notes (1)

  1. The headword (extracted from the quotation given) is second-person plural, present indicative, of LSJ's qoa/zw(B) = qaa/ssw. The second gloss reflects qoa/zw(A), "I dart/rush," derived from the adjective qoo/s "swift"; cf. generally theta 397.
  2. 1Sophocles, Oedipus Tyrannus 2, with scholion. ↩
