Translation

[Meaning she] spent, expended.¹
Also [sc. attested is the infinitive] a)naisimou=n ["to use up"] in Herodotus meaning to expend, to spend.²
Also [sc. attested is the subjunctive] a)naisimw=si ["they would use up"].
"They strangled their women, so that they would not use up the grain."³

Ἀναισίμου· ἀνήλισκε, κατεδαπάνα. καὶ Ἀναισιμοῦν παρὰ Ἡροδότῳ ἀντὶ τοῦ δαπανᾶν, ἀναλίσκειν. καὶ Ἀναισιμῶσι, καταναλίσκωσι. τὰς δὲ γυναῖκας ἀπέπνιξαν, ἵνα μὴ τὸν σῖτον ἀναισιμῶσιν.
