Translation

[Meaning] without food, without nourishment.¹
"[Justinian] also often used to remain abstinent for two days and nights, and he was abstinent during the days of Pascha, surviving on small quantities of water."²
Also [sc. attested is the related verb] a)positw=, [meaning] I avoid food.

Ἀπόσιτος· ἄσιτος, ἄτροφος. ὁ δὲ καὶ ἀπόσιτος ἡμέρας τε καὶ νύκτας δύο πολλάκις ἔμενε, καὶ ταῖς τοῦ Πάσχα ἡμέραις ἀπόσιτος ἦν, ὕδατι βραχεῖ ἀποζῶν. καὶ Ἀποσιτῶ, τὸ καταλιμπάνω τὸν σῖτον.
