Translation

"[I have letters] puffed up or deflated, than which no one wrote ones more lofty than Capaneus [sc. would have written].¹ Concerning them I often call the gods² to mind; and shouting that [verse], 'Io Nemesis and the deep-booming thunder of Zeus,'³ I forbade him to go."

Ἐμοί τε ἐπιστολαί ἐπαρθεὶς ἢ χαυνωθείς, ὧν οὐθεὶς ἔγραψεν ὑψηλοτέρας τοῦ Καπανέως, ὑπὲρ ὧν τοὺς θεοὺς θεοὺς πολλάκις ὑπομιμνήσκω, καὶ τό, Ἰὼ Νέμεσι καὶ τὸ Διὸς βαρύβρομοι βρονταί, βοήσας, ἀπηγόρευσα αὐτῷ μὴ φοιτᾶν.

The quotation, which reappears with some variation at upsilon 747, is unidentifiable. (Adler notes Jonathan Toup's attribution of it to either the emperor Julian or Synesius.)
