Athenaeus, Deipnosophists 13.571E [13.29 Kaibel], as transmitted. No such writer of comedy is otherwise attested, however, and scholars have long accepted Casaubon's emendation of the name to Ephippos, epsilon 3929 (who is known to have written a play of this name: see PCG V pp.136-137).
