Translation

[Meaning] they used to fill, they used to block.¹ Aristophanes [writes]: "[the foreigners] used to stuff the mouth[s] of these men with gold". That is, [the mouths] of the orators.²

Ἐβύνουν· ἐπλήρουν, ἔφραττον. Ἀριστοφάνης· χρυσίῳ τούτων ἐβύνουν τὸ στόμα. τουτέστι τῶν ῥητόρων.
