Translation

[Meaning] he declared. They use this form also for the plural and for feminine and masculine.¹
And [there is] a saying: "quoth he [h)= d'o(s]", not only meaning e)/fh ["he/she/it said"] but also in reference to many, [i.e.] meaning e)/fasan ["they said"].²

Ἦ δ' ὅς· ἔφη δὲ ὅς. τούτῳ χρῶνται καὶ ἐπὶ πλήθους καὶ ἐπὶ θηλυκοῦ καὶ ἀρσενικοῦ. καὶ παροιμία· Ἦ δ' ὅς, οὐ μόνον ἀντὶ τοῦ ἔφη, ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐπὶ πολλῶν τίθεται ἀντὶ τοῦ ἔφασαν.
