Translation
A disyllabic way of saying I proceeded, written with an iota. At any rate the Ionians say [sc. trisyllabic] h)/i+a , also h)/i+san , for h)/|esan [sc. in the third person plural]. This form must be read in Thucydides: "they were at their peak [going] into it."1 The Ionians [say] h)/|esan and h)/i+san . Aristophanes in Merchant-Ships: "when I got to where I went to the timber-market."2
