Γυμνῷ φυλακὴν ἐπιτάττεις

[sc. A proverb] in reference to those who are not in a position to carry out their orders, because [they lack] what is necessary.¹
[The related verb] gumnw= ["I strip naked"] [is accompanied] with a genitive; but [also] with an accusative, as in "after stripping him naked they led him outside."² Also, "[God] stripping bare what has been sealed up."³
