Notes (2)

  1. 1The headword adjective occurs in Homer, Iliad 23.34, referring to flowing blood. The definition appears in Apollonius' Homeric Lexicon (cf. Aristonicus, De signis Iliadis, and Hesychius kappa3817); see also LSJ. ↩
  2. 2Paraphrased from the Homeric scholia: "a kotu/lh is anything hollow, so they would also call the hollow of the hand a kotu/lh". On the kotu/lh cf. kappa 2166. ↩
