Translation

[Meaning] I desire.1 Also [sc. attested is] leli/fqai ["to have been eager"] likewise;2 from which [comes] also lelihme/nos ["[someone] being eager"].3

Greek original · Adler’s text

Λίπτω· τὸ ἐπιθυμῶ. καὶ Λελίφθαι, ὁμοίως· ἐξ οὗ καὶ τὸ λελιημένος.

Notes (3)

  1. 1This active voice is late, the middle li/ptomai earlier. Same or similarly glossing in other lexica and in a scholion on Apollonius Rhodius, Argonautica 4.813 (where the present active participle occurs: web address 1). ↩
  2. 2Perfect infinitive of li/ptomai; evidently quoted from somewhere, but actually attested only here. ↩
  3. 3Participle of leli/hmai, quoted from Homer; cf. lambda 242. (But ms F, Adler reports, reads lelimme/nos from li/ptomai.) ↩
