sea-snail

Translation
Possibly a diminutive of nêritês, so that [it would be derived] from nêros ["fresh; water"]. Hence a sea-snail would also be a Nêrion.

Notes
- The unglossed headword
nhri/on , accented thus, is not otherwise attested (thoughnh/rion is a word for oleander: see LSJ s.v.)
The body of the entry (together with the entirety of nu 335, q.v.) is a marginal addition in ms M. Whoever added it is guessing at the meaning ofnhri/on , which looks like a diminutive ofnhro/s "fresh", (later) "water". He associates it with another form apparently derived fromnhro/s ,nhrei/ths .
