- Two places of this name are attested in Greece: (1) in Thessaly, present-day Velestino (probably the one envisaged here); (2) in the S Peloponnese, present-day Kalamata.
The (plural) name is here in the accusative case, perhaps reflecting Homer, Iliad 2.711 (web address 1), though there are other possibilities.
