Notes (2)

  1. 1Stephanus of Byzantium s.v. registers two toponyms of this name, one in Cilicia and one in Palestine. For the latter see also Josephus, Jewish War 1.404, cited by Adler. And see also next note. ↩
  2. 2Not far west of Herakleia in the Propontis (Sea of Marmora) is Panion/Theodosiopolis, present-day Barbaros. ↩
