Notes (4)
- The headword is a comparative adjective, in the masculine nominative singular, deriving from the noun
pre/sbus, -ews, -eos, o( (old man); see generally LSJ s.v. - 1Same or similar glossing in other lexica; references at Photius pi1155 Theodoridis. [In her critical apparatus Adler reports that ms V reads
timiw/tatos , most honored.] ↩ - 2Aelian fr. 321 Hercher (318 Domingo-Forasté); more fully at rho 53. ↩
- 3Adler reports that ms V replaces
timiwte/ran withteleiote/ran , more perfect. ↩ - 4Quotation -- again in part under pi 2258 -- unidentifiable; (Adler suggests Aelian.) [Adler notes that the quotation was omitted by ms F and that mss GV transmit
w)/mosen , third person singular (agreeing with the subjectstratia/ ), rather than the plural given here.] ↩
