Notes (2)
- 1Likewise in the Synagoge, Lexica Segueriana 352.3, and Photius pi1378 Theodoridis; similarly in Hesychius pi3928; and cf. pi 2845. The headword, masculine accusative singular or neuter nominative/accusative singular of this adjective, must be quoted from somewhere (possibly the quotation given here, which has the neuter, though the other lexica do not give it). ↩
- 2Theophylact Simocatta, Histories 4.11.11 = Excerpta Constantini Porphyrogeniti de legationibus 483.14-16 de Boor; cf. de Boor Theophylacti Simocattae Historiae (171) and Whitby (118). On the emperor Mauricius (Maurice), see mu 294; on Chosroes II, king of Persia, see chi 418 note. The historian is quoting a letter from Chosroes to Mauricius. ↩
