Notes
- This unglossed phrase for the song of the Sirens (sigma 280, sigma 281, alpha 4402) is proverbial for a bewitching song. It is found in (e.g.) Michael Psellus, Orationes forenses 3.275 (in the dative plural, cf. Theologica 32.59); ps.-Codinus, Patria Constantinopoleos 3.38; and Eustathius, Commentary on the Odyssey 12.198. It is also mentioned in Herodian's Partitions 16.6. Its rare adjective is sometimes written
*Seirh/nios .
