Notes (2)

  1. 1The Suda's double headword brings together the aorist active and aorist middle infinitives of ti/nw, from *ti/nvw, where the tau represents an original labiovelar. The aorist is better spelled with ei, from an e-grade of the root (see LSJ, and Chantraine s.v.). Same entry, for the active only, in other lexica; references at Photius tau318, where Theodoridis identifies it as quoted from Homer, Odyssey 12.378; cf. the scholia there. See also tau 640, tau 657, tau 664, tau 667, tau 668, tau 669. ↩
  2. 2Herodotus 3.127.1 (which includes the middle infinitive). ↩
