Notes
- For Thesprotia see already theta 285. Its principal claim to fame was being the home of the oracle of Zeus at Dodona, and "Thesprotian cauldron" is a phrase which belongs in that context: a "cauldron" - used as a gong - at Dodona is mentioned in Callimachus, Hymn 4.286, and a "Thesprotian cauldron" is listed with other oracles and their associations by Theodoret of Cyrrhus, Graecarum affectionum curatio 10.46.
cf. delta 1445, delta 1446, delta 1447.
