Notes (4)

  1. 1Same or similar glossing in other lexica. ↩
  2. 2An approximation of Theophylact Simocatta, Histories 6.5.13; part Maurice's phony letter to Priscus (summer 588), hoping to trick the Avar khan into withdrawing his superior forces; cf. de Boor (229), Whitby (166), and phi 196. On the Roman emperor Maurice, see mu 294 generally. On Priscus, see generally epsilon 1219 note. On the Avars, see generally alpha 18 note. ↩
  3. 3Quotation unidentifiable. ↩
  4. 4cf. under theta 517. ↩
